My first real photoshop creation. I took a picture from last halloween, when i dressed as a chola, and made sort of an East LA theme out of it.
I previously had someone tell me they were offended because of my costume. Just so you know, my parents are Mexican and so is my whole family. And I personally don’t find it that offensive so if you have something to say about it please refrain from doing so.
dear people of tumblr, i just want to let you know that this is not okay:
it really irks me when i see people who are outside of my culture/race/heritage/etc use day of the dead makeup and such as halloween costumes. i don’t attempt to speak for everyone, but i know i’m not…
LET ME SPEAK OUT FOR OTHER MEXICANS! I’m Mexican and I didn’t find this new trend offensive. If anything I found it awesome that people are learning something new about our culture. Even some of my cousins living in Mexico painted their faces like this for Halloween. The only reason the person posting this is “offended” is because it’s a new trend. They’re like the hipster of day of the dead. We all wear things of other cultures like for example, the “rastafari” colors, shirts with a Buddha on it, tattoos in different languages, etc.
So please, stop your whining.
So let me get this straight, all the other reindeer bullied Rudolph for being different and he was basically outcasted from society until Santa “the boss” made him successful? And after that everyone loved him? If I were Rudolph I would be like “GTFO all you other reindeer are just a bunch of followers”
angstiosis asked: Are you white, dressing as a Mexican for Halloween?
I am white. But my family is Mexican. I dressed as a chola/chicana for Halloween
